TEAORY  |  tea-set

CONCEPT

It’s natural and instinctive warming hands clutching a cup of tea, especially during the coldest days.
My project springs from the desire to design a mug that envelopes hands, heating them and assisting the grip.

From numerous sketches and models, studying an appropriate, harmonious and ergonomic shape, TEAORY emerges: a ceramic tea-set that "embraces" all the intents of the project.

The name is a word-game, crossing the words “Tea” and “Theory”, which wants to evoke the mathematical laws applicable to nature, the theories related to Pi, as well as the Fibonacci sequence summarized in the "golden" proportioned spiral.
In fact the same spiral traces the geometric evolution of the handle which is the tea-set’s design distinctive feature.

The set consists of two mugs, a teapot, a milk jug, a sugar bowl and a tray.
Each piece is equipped with a lid, in particular the mug's lid is dimensioned and designed so as to act both as a cover and a saucer when inverted.
